Covid affects everyone differently. What it did to you or any one person does not matter. It has killed over 750,000 in the US alone.

Correct. Mortality isn’t really up much in 2021 vs 2019. Overall mortality does not reflect a pandemic but a scamdemic. That’s not to say Covid-19 is not an unpleasant ailment with horrible side effects. The vaccines neither seem to stop its spread nor the side effects. The side effects of the vaccines are enormous, striking down even professional footballers in their prime. Hence the vaccines are at the least a failure and an economic boondoggle.

nc551 makes sense of the US numbers:

The first year the lockdowns were responsible for half the deaths and they hyperinflated the death counts by testing every cadaver. That likely holds for the second year too. Since about 3 million die each year in the US anyway, we saw like an 8% increase at best with the average age of death being higher than the average life expectancy. There is no justification for the illegal lockdowns or illegal vaccine mandates.

In the worst case, the vaccines have been designed to cripple the human immune system and make its recipients dependent on regular booster shots for the rest of their lives to avoid imminent death.

Now Western governments are injecting 5 to 11 years old with what is clearly poison. They say people get the government they deserve. How awful we must be to deserve this degree of corruption, cynicism and rapacity.

There is something quite Shakespearean about the repetitive invective here. Having lived through near anarchy and private armies in early 1990’s Moscow, I forever lost any naive taste for anarchy. Anarchy is basically caveman rules – I have gun, you give me. On the other hand, limiting government and its reach is a necessity in preventing democratic government from becoming an all-consuming tyranny. This is the precipice on which we stand now.

The internet has become instead of a friend of knowledge, a tool to distribute propaganda, lower the intelligence of the population through vulgar memes and pornography and, worst of all, an all-seeing gestapo.

Evil, arrogant men like Eric Schmidt love to say nonsense like “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear”.

Everyone has secrets, including Schmidt who loves infidelity, sexual perversion and (illegal) recreational drugs when he’s out of his suit. By making all secrets of all men and women available to the government and more particularly its secret services, one simply makes (almost) everyone an available victim of state-sponsored blackmail.

What’s the harm?

It’s pretty clear that the CIA/NSA managed to get their hands on many of Angela Merkel’s secrets while they had access to her phone and her computers. It was important to them to let her know what they had. It’s probably enough to put her in jail, certainly enough to have her thrown out of public office. It may include secret bank accounts, it may include sexual peccadilloes but it’s certainly enough to put her on a very short leash.

Merkel went from we don’t need or want “multi-kulti” to enthusiastically cheerleading a land invasion of Europe by two million economic migrants. Most of those economic migrants had had their homeland partially destroyed by the USA and Israel’s wars (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria).

“Wir schaffen es,” proclaimed Merkel and promptly made Germans second-class citizens in their own country. No longer was their safe access to public baths, poor Germans were thrown out of their public housing to accommodate the economic migrants, undocumented migrants were more or less free to commit crimes of their choice as police dreaded the paperwork when trying to prosecute them.

Train operators have estimated that passenger numbers will only return to 90% of pre-Covid levels in five years’ time, rendering previous franchise agreements economically unviable. The UK Conservative government who privatised the railroads at great cost to the public purse in the first place is effectively renationalising the railroads, except with an out to funnel some profits in flat fees to the existing operators. I’m far from certain that those operators are necessary as well.

There’s a reason the government runs the post and usually the trains the world over. Certain high infrastructure sectors like gas lines, electricity networks, highways, train lines, hospitals and space exploration are simply better run by government. Of course, sometimes government administrators, pardon the pun, go off the rails. Fix the administration, don’t trust private enterprise to do the job right. Almost all of the sectors I named have very high safety requirements. Private enterprise weighs safety against profit. Private enterprise puts profit above all. Private enterprise will take money to stand down from their mandate (legal bribes: Amtrack deliberately sabotages rail travel as they are incentivised and encouraged to do so).

I’m glad to see at least that the UK operators are not being openly subsidised for lower travel, due to the Covid-19 lockdown. Those rail operators are businesses who took a business risk by bidding on and taking on these franchises. There’s no excuse for them to come back to government hat in hand, Covid_19 or not. They don’t profit share with us.
