SC Kittsee were clearly the better team on Friday night. Still, after knocking in a single goal at 36 minutes, the SC Kittsee attack decided to take a fifty minute break until the last ten minutes. SC Kittsee came out winners despite living dangerously this time. There was no reason to leave the result of the game in doubt and leave a lifeline in SV Gols hands until the very end. In the last eight minutes, the SC Kittsee attack came alive again and enjoyed several excellent chances on goal.

Unnecessary yellow cards continue to be the bane of SC Kittsee’s starting eleven. There were games last season where up to five players were sitting out due to cards. Tomas Bastian picked one up, as did Patrick Pail. Pail at least was dragging down a Gols player who might have broken away one on one. Some congratulations are in order to Patrick Dietmann who did not get a yellow card (just checked the sheet), only a couple of warnings from the referee.

Still SC Kittsee did win at home on a warm evening, which is good.

There’s a lovely tradition in Austria, called Lanternfest (Lantern Festival) which comes on the 11 November. The kindergarten children go for a walk with their lanterns, singing songs. Parents are invited and it’s a chance for the whole kindergarten to work together on a joint project, and parents to see how well the teachers are preparing their progeny for the next step in life, school.

SC Kittsee struggled to beat a club in the top four last week. ASV Deutsch Jahrndorf controlled the game. This weekend at home we faced FC Illmitz who is the third of the three clubs including SC Kittsee contending for second place in II Liga Nord fall season.

The substantial crowd for the last home game at 17h on Saturday faced an unpleasant early surprise when Thomas Wickl scored after two minutes. The rest of the first half was fairly evenly matched with Mustafa Atik equalising at the end of the half. In the second half, SC Kittsee enjoyed breakaway after breakaway and notched two more goals. A decisive win over a worthy opponent, which bodes well for the spring season.

The game was very exciting and I have a lot of photos. Here’s the first seventeen including mostly the goals.

Sazl enjoys a red cart for his trouble.: Referee Manuel Gregorits rewards Thomas Sazl with a well-deserved red card for this two-handed hold. SC Kittsee and ASV Deutsch Jahrndorf came into this game, second and third in the standings in II Liga Nord close to the end of the fall season. After last year’s struggle, such a result is a heroic turnaround for SC Kittsee. Both teams are big scorers with +11 and +14 goals respectively, but the story of tonight’s game was defence. Kittsee could do little beyond midfield, while Deutsch Jahrndorf struggled to finish their attacks.

There wasn’t much work for Deutsch Jahrndorf keeper Michael Unger. SC Kittsee keeper Manuel Schiszler had to work harder to keep our side in the game.

Here’s some photos. ASV Deutsch Jahrndorf have the weakest lights in all of II Liga Nord, which means sometimes faces are in shadow and ISO is very high.

It was a tough fall season for SC Kittsee with just two wins and 8 points sharing the bottom of the standings with Apetlon, positiond for relegation. The spring season has started off much better with a 1-1 tie with top tier SV Wimpassing on 26 March followed by 5-0 drubbing of fellow cellar-dweller Apetlon on Wednesday 30 March. On Saturday night, March 30, SC Kittsee earned another point, tying a lively mid-standings Tadten team, 1-1. That’s three games with one win and two ties in a week. Saturday night was very cold and ended in a snow storm. Here’s some photos.

Tadten team posted an excellent write-up of the game play in German. Here’s a quick translation:

After the draw at home against UFC Pama, a “tricky” away game awaited us in Kittsee.

From the beginning, we were well in the game against the somewhat unsettled home side. We were clearly in control and dominated the game.

We also had some good chances, but often we were not precise enough or we did not get the last pass or we missed the right time to play the better positioned team mate.

So we missed some good chances to take the lead, although we were still dominating the game. Initially, the home side did not score much or even anything.

But after half an hour, Sebastian Pichler scored the well-deserved 1:0 for our team after a (dream) pass from Dominik Christ.

Shortly before the break, the home side had their only real chance to score: After a misunderstanding in our defence, Adam Klekner made a great save. We go into the break with a 1:0 lead.

Immediately after the break, we concede an “avoidable” goal after a standard situation.

After that, the game was even in difficult conditions (snow flurries). We are no longer as dominant as before the break, the home side is now a bit better in the game. There are no big goals on either side until the end. So it remains 1:1.

Conclusion: Before the break we could have or should have decided the game for us. Unfortunately, we failed to take advantage of the many good opportunities. After the break, we couldn’t generate as much pressure and therefore had to be content with the 1:1 in the end. Now full focus on the upcoming derby against Wallern!!!! Gemma boys!!! Vuigas!!!!

Tadten frustration after their strong first half is understandable.

In the comments to Austrian Police Patrol Shops, Highways Hunting For The Unvaxx’d, gregga7 darkly notes:

Impfen macht frei! [Injection builds freedom!]

LadyDaze cynically adds:

The likelihood is that impfen macht Tot …

oldschool states the important obvious.

Tot ist frei. [Death is freedom/]

Why have so many Russians, black Americans, NASA scientists and PhD’s not gone to get vaccinated?

It’s about trust in the government. Russians learned over seventy years not to trust the government. Black Americans have two hundred years of negative experience with government and government health inspectors (before they were ex-patriated, most dangerous medical studies were done on blacks). NASA scientists know you can’t trust the government. Critical thinking PhD’s have strong reason to believe we should not trust the government.

Most of the people foolish enough to get vaccinated are those who trust the government.1 For better or worse, there are many people who adulate authority and trust the system.

chiswickcat explains the phenomenon:

Psychological control technique 101. Isolate people, scare the shit out of them, bring them a solution. That’s why people are so willing to take an untested jab. They don’t even know they have been psychologically manipulated. They think their .govs are helping them.

Going a bit deeper, some longtime members talked about who in their personal circles has chosen to be vaccinated and why.

bringonthebigone:

Yep, midwits love their rules, orderly lives, and bureaucracy.

Last study I saw on jab rate vs education the bachelors degrees had the highest vax rate and PHDs the lowest rate.  There are a lot of bachelors degree, masters degree and even PHDs who are midwits; they know enough to think they are highly knowledgeable and intelligent.  If they knew more (and have self awareness) they’d get humbled by how little they know and not trust an mRNA vaccine with no history just because some stuffed shirt tells them to.

You also see this with occupation.  Those that work in the real world have a grounding to reality, you screw stuff up and shit goes wrong in real time.  Those that work in the abstract can screw stuff up for a lifetime and never get solid feedback.

in_xanadu_did_kubla_khan

A close family member of mine has 4 academic degrees from 3 very respectable universities, 3 of which are science based and one is a masters in environmental biology. Their partner also has 2 degrees, one is a masters of biochem. They are both fully vaxxed and are looking to vaxx their kids, who are all under the age of 6.

Incredibly, I know MUCH more about this COVID bullshit than they do. Last I talked to them I mentioned ivermectin as a suitable alternative to vaccines. They immediately said the studies are bogus, well, one study, the Elgazzar study, is bogus and was retracted….months ago! They had no clue that one paper had zero statistical impact on the overall picture. They are clueless and only following the gov/ media and their BS without asking any questions at all. Am I surprised? Not really. It’s elitism. They even remarked to me that the “minority” populations who are not taking this jab are simply “not properly educated on the matter” – UMMM…I’m pretty sure that is a Christian savior, or messiah complex talking there and that’s exactly how atrocities in the past have occured – case in point the Canadian residential schools.”You are dumb, savage, so we will assimilate you. If you resist, you will pay a price”. Unbelievable to hear that logic come from this person. Totally removed from reality.

In terms of their intelligence, they are VERY book smart – not so street smart. Therefore, they fail to see the world is not a loving place and more often than not, corruption leads the day. They just can’t seem to wrap their liberal heads around this, that they are being controlled through military grade propaganda, psy ops. And it is money which drives “science”. It boggles my mind, but it is what it is. Will be sad to see them all suffer down to road. Mind you, the one with 4 degrees wound up in an ambulance being rushed to the hospital with a heart rate of 200bpm immediately after the 2nd dose of Moderna….truly have no idea what these people are thinking….well, clearly they aren’t thinking. It’s quite disturbing.

Herewardthewake

I don’t think that is education or IQ.  I think it is observational skills. Sure you have to be intelligent enough to process what you observe but first you have to see it.  You have to be willing to see what there is to be seen, however unpleasant. Takes a spine to do that.  My Dad brought me up to have courage, to be brave in the face of anything and to accept facts as they are not as I wish them to be.  I thank him for that.  I guess WWII South Pacific Marines helped him with his observational skills.  Of my 4 siblings 2 are liberal and myself and my brother are conservative.  The two conservatives were both closer to the parents.  The other two live in fairyland.

in_xanadu_did_kubla_khan

I think education and IQ 100% have a part in it…moreso to where education and that IQ took them in life. Have they lived a hard life and survived and even persevered? Or did they have everything on a silver spoon and have zero skills or ability to deal with things like childhood traumas, potential narcissism or elitist mind sets?

I think you make a great point though, as to how you were raised, which gave you a spine to not always approach the world with a set of rosy glasses on. And that isn’t to say you aren’t of high IQ or aren’t educated. But perhaps IQ and education are not prerequisites for being able to see and understand evil. Perhaps what is required of that is not IQ, but EQ – emotional intelligence. If you are all book smart and not street/ people smart, you likely aren’t all that good with people, meaning you have trouble meeting them at their level, and you therefore walk around with a holier than thou approach to others. Again, elitism.

You can have a high IQ and high EQ, likely born out of hard life experiences, but you can’t have a high IQ and naturally get a high EQ. To obtain a high EQ, it is all about the life you have experienced thus far and how you have connected with those experiences. Meaning, if you have a high EQ, you likely went through those experiences fully, as opposed to pushing them aside and letting your thoughts and feelings boil inside without dealing with them in any way – avoidance rather than acceptance.

Privethedge:

Same situation here.

> associates locally that I thought had two brain cells and were awake have gotten the jab, their excuse it makes life easier…

A friend with a slow cancer, he knew it was a scam, kept telling me it was the Kalergi plan, refused to wear a muzzle.

He got the jab to stop the medics constant heckling and to visit Disney. Suddenly his cancer and body went crazy, he didn’t make it out of the month.

Some people know, but against them is a team of very clever experts checking every single weakness – and they found his. Now he’s dead.

What side am I on? I lived in Russia where I learned never to trust the government2 and am on the side of the cynical NASA scientists and PhD’s in political science. Trust but verify. The urgency to participate in a frightening mass medical experiment is simply not apparent to me. When one looks at the number of incidences of young endurance athletes collapsing on the tennis court or soccer field in the past year, it’s at about three times higher than normal. I’d like to see better statistical analysis but the anecdotal evidence is right there in front of our own eyes.

  1. There’s one more group and it’s not a small one. People who feel they have no choice. They’ve been put in a position where they will lose their job and their home and their family if they do not comply. I’m blessed not to be in that group but have full sympathy for those who are. Our governments are striving to put more and more people into the group without a choice. It’s pathetic to see these craven politicians, many of whom are not vaccinated themselves (US Congress is exempt) passing laws to bully others to do what they are not willing to do themselves. Or to do to others’ children which they would not accept for their own (private schools are mostly exempt from the public school laws).

  2. came back to the West where I learned the government and banks play similar games to Russian government but cover their tracks better.

True. The scheme is as simple as this:

Absorb the workforce from that country into Old Europe to the degree that 80-90% of young able-minded and/or bodied men and women (who usually have a work ethic and motivation far above their “Old European” counterparts) leave their homeland. “Elect” the traitors you want as a government using simple political technologies under the rule of US/EU embassies. And finally, turn this Nation/Country into a territory inhabited by feeble old native geezers, and gangs of predatory gypsy/migrant/homegrown psychopaths.

From my time in Slovakia, Austria, France and the UK, I can attest first-hand this is how it happens. Canada, my birth place, certainly suffers from this phenomenon. Many of our stars are poached to the United States and at the same time, due to the US-Canada Free Trade agreement Canada is not free to protect its own cultural industries. It’s been a slow spinning vortex into US culture, to the point where the cultural differences between most of the Canadian provinces with one another and with their neighbours to the south is more like the difference between individual US states. Has Canada reached the point of no return?

It’s a difficult question and one with complex answers.3

The same kind of self-annihilation is what is planned for Europe.

This is not to say, entrepreneurs and citizens cannot work against this diabolically designed construction to hollow out nation states. I’ve worked hard to offer great opportunities in Slovakia to young Slovak programmers and designers, and had some success in helping them stay home and have families here. But the system does work like above and some of my past colleagues have indeed left Slovakia behind.

We must hold Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Greece even illogical Poland against these designs for bland strip-malling of Europe and our individual cultural identities.4

  1. But the process of imperial assimilation is clear. It’s been the same since the Roman Empire. Curiously in George Lucas’s Star Wars universe, the assimilation is usually much more violent. Rather than bending minds over time, his Empire has preferred kinetic means.

  2. Cultural identity is far more interesting than gender identity. What imbecile spends his/her entire life staring at his/her privates?

Last Friday, SC Kittsee notched its first win in league play in 2021 with a clean sheet against USC Wallern. The game was quite choppy with eight yellow cards distributed evenly between the sides. Kittsee enjoyed a clear advantage most of the game, with their own goal rarely threatened. Only the fine work of lifetime Wallern defender Simon Steiner at the back kept the game close.

Great to see a cleanly played game with no attempt by either side to injure players on the other side. No yellow cards in the game sheet.

Last weekend SC Kittsee made the short trip down Pamastrasse to face long time rivals UFC Pama. The game started with a bit of rain and fairly even play. As the sun came out, it shined harder on UFC Pama who slowly outplayed SC Kittsee, scoring first at 34′ and knocking a second in at 59′. It was a welcome change to see such a cleanly played game with no attempt by either side to injure players on the other side. The clean play was reflected in the game sheet with no yellow cards.

Our SC Kittsee is still not in form but it was a well-deserved win for UFC Pama on clean play, hard work end to end and will to win. UFC Pama relies on team work rather than any individual star.

What’s afflicting SC Kittsee? Apparently since new coach Erwin Raithofer took over from Franz Ziniel, there’s been quite a few changes in position and formation. None of the position changes have yielded any perceptible benefits so far while the existing set plays don’t work any more (set plays require players to spend time playing next to one another). It would make sense to go back to the classic 4-4-2 formation and mostly the existing positions. Any position changes could be saved for the next break when there will be more time to practice and test them in exhibition games.

UFC Pama were very kind hosts post-game.

Why relying on focus peaking often results in blurry pictures on Sony A7, A7S, A7R https://uncoy.com/2018/03/focus-peaking-sony-blurry.html https://uncoy.com/2018/03/focus-peaking-sony-blurry.html#comments Thu, 22 Mar 2018 10:57:02 +0000 https://uncoy.com/?p=2514 Why relying on focus peaking often results in blurry pictures on Sony A7, A7S, A7R

Poor quality focus peaking affects a lot of cameras like Sony A7, A7S, A7R or NEX 5T, NEX 6, NEX 7 or A5100, A6000, A6300, A6500.

I’ve always liked vintage lenses. The metal, the smooth mechanical focus motion. It’s what taking pictures is really about. A precision mechanical instrument, not video game controls.

I have some nice Leica R (wide Leica R is much better on mirrorless than Leica M as it doesn’t distort around the edged), Nikon and even a drawer full of Pentax lenses. I tried every kind of special focus screen for my Canon 5D (the 5D Mk III doesn’t allow special focus screens) but none of them were accurate enough. Yes, those focus screens do get you into the ball park but if you want to be sure of a sharp picture at wide aperture you have to focus bracket with about four pictures. Not particularly good for catching special moments.

When focus peaking first appeared on the Sony A7, I thought my issues with focus on manual lenses were solved. I could never really get focus peaking to work well enough. I thought the issue was with the camera. It turns out not to be.

There’s a great image development application for photographers who shoot RAW called Fast Raw Viewer. FRW lets you view the nitty gritty of your images straight from the RAW file fast. With a fast drive (SSD), it’s almost like browsing jpegs. Among many great features, FRW lets you preview focus peaking on your existing images with both fine detail focus peaking and high contrast edges focus peaking.

Here’s an image which focus peaking, both fine detail and high contrast edges, says is sharp in the critical area and even into the background.

Fine detail:

High Contrast Edges:

Here’s a closer look at that image:

The image is very blurry.

The issue is not that Sony’s implementation of focus peaking is so broken (as I originally though).

Poor quality focus peaking affects a lot of cameras like Sony A7, A7S, A7R or NEX 5T, NEX 6, NEX 7 or A5100, A6000, A6300, A6500. It’s nice to know we can stop blaming Sony and accept the limits of focus peaking. There’s no camera on which focus peaking really works. On my Canon 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern firmware the image peaking also didn’t really work. Now I know why.

The only really useful focus tool is then image zoom. Image zoom for focus did work on the Sony A7 and on my Sony NEX 5T. What didn’t work is that image zoom had three steps:

  • no zoom
  • 5x zoom
  • 10x zoom

Having to cycle through three states made even image zoom useless for live action photography. What’s really necessary are two steps with the zoom level customisable. For instance:

  • no zoom
  • 7x zoom (this could be 3x, 5x, 8x, 10x)

I’m not sure if Sony has fixed this simple software issue. I’ll find out soon as I’ll have a Sony A7S and a Sony A6000 in to test soon.

Here’s to sharp images!

ISO 100, 1/800s, f4.5

These images are shot on the spectacular (for daytime work) Sony Zeiss FE 2.8/35mm on the Sony NEX 5T. Yes, I’m using an expensive full frame lens on an APS-C body. The advantage is absolutely no vignetting and edge to edge landscapes.
