Thanks for the reminder about the white feather campaign, CB. It's good to remember that massive propaganda actions are nothing new under the sun. Shocking that a small part of a generation of women could be responsible for the loss of two generations of men – the very men who were their brothers and should have been their lovers and husbands and friends.

During the 20th century, the weaponisation of women had more of an effect than any nuclear bomb ever dropped. Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst were convinced by the British govt to promote the enlistment of men into WW1, only Sylvia refused to take part, so she didn't get any plaque, or statue in London. Women were also employed to conduct the white feather campaign, such that if any man, who had not enlisted, was touched by a white feather, they were deemed to be cowards. WW1 simply would not have commenced if men had not enlisted....
