So you speak about dance…
About movement.
And still considered choreographies as fixed ?

I saw this performance and whatever she dances, she was in harmony with her inside.
And THAT IS BEAUTIFUL.

She dances “ROSAS danst ROSAS” just because she wanted to , and her reasons are none of your business!
Please don’t do easy pseudo-psycological analysis.

ATDK does not need this.

Thanks for stopping by Michal. I agree Cynthia Loemij was wonderful in the revised version. I still mean to write something about Jan Fabre’s Orgy of Tolerance at ImPulsTanz 2009 where he did new work on his regular crew of dancers which suits their abilities and stage of career. Unlike Wim Vandekeybus, Jan Fabre hangs onto his most talented collaborators and just adapts his new creations to suit the performer’s own growth.

Thank you for this post. I saw Rosas Danst Rosas at Sadlers Wells in London last night and felt a similar ambivalence, so it was great to find your very eloquent reading of it. I have to say I ended up focusing almost solely on cynthia loemij, whose wonderful presence in this piece you describe beautifuly.
