Sargfabrik Goa-Party on Goldschlagstrasse: Austrian GoaTrance

Austrian-Goa-Dj Mg 1711-2

What was great about the party on Goldschlagstrasse at the Sargfabrik was that it wasn’t too big. There were maybe a couple of hundred people. The core crowd.

The music was good and the vibe was really easy-going. There was live vocal accompaniment to a lot of the music. A live musical element adds a lot to any Goa or Trance evening. DJs included Heyoka, Armin, Don Ziggy. Great sets, especially the two am to three am set. If anyone can add any precision to who performed what and when, please leave it in the comments.

As well as the music, there was a full sauna and pool and jacuzzi available to party-goers. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures there. There wasn’t much light and it closed earlier than the party.

  3. Goan Goan

    hi!!
Am a goan born native and its nice to know that people as far as Austria have interest in my ‘heaven on earth’ called Goa. Just to give u hint of our culture.
Goa is a haven for psychedelic and hallucinogenic parties. (raves) that happen here are unique to Goa and the experience is unlike any other party destination. Ok..first things first…i’m talking about ‘Trance’, a genere of music which has evolved into ‘Psychedelic Goa Trance’ (where’s the connection ?!?)…ok….lemme start at ‘the source’….
It all started in the 60’s actually, when all the hippies and the flower power generation discovered Goa. Drugs, nudity and music….is all they needed and thats what they got !! its still pretty much the same today too….only…the drugs have taken modern twists and the music is all electronic (ahh…! now i get it!). The evagelists of goa trance, if you may, were basically the israelis who came to Goa during their post-war years. Of course, the germans played a major role too…most of the DJ’s during the early 80’s were germans, who kicked off the electronic techno scene, which has finally evolved into psychedelic goa trance.

Goa, autonomous province southwards from Bombay is well known for its parties and pleasant athmosphere. In the Sixties it was discovered as a party-location by the hippies but today it is a partyplace for a new generation: the Techno- and Rave-heads. They come from all over the world, from Isreal, New Zealand, Chile, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Japan and from Germany to find parties on the beaches here.

In Goa, all are like a family. You are a member of this family just because you are there. Its a multiculture. Openness and tolerance are the rules. Arrogance is an unknown word. If you are new in Goa (white skin) you will be integrated by the old-established people. Goa is a non-stop-party from october to march at changing locations around the villages of Anjuna, Vagator and Chapora. At the summerly aftermonth starting in april, the partypeople move to north into the desert Rajastan and into the valleys of Kulu & Manali to party up to the end of the rainy-season in Goa.

Goa was discovered by the Hippies in the sixties. They came to India to find peace and harmony, things that you can find here on the streets.

The first Techno-parties came to Goa around 1988 but with no sucess. The people didnt know what to do with that kind of music. But one year later there came the Trance-vibes and the party-people were facinated by them. In this exotic enviroment, music and man grow together. A new kind of Techno developed: Goa-Trance with its psychedelic sounds that cut through your brain.

A party on SHORE BAR – every Wednesday !

There are no party flyers in Goa. In the original state of the Raving Society, a bush-drum works fine. So newcomers fear that they’ll miss something. No wonder the illegal parties are hard to find. But no fear ! Simply follow the stream of the bikers.

The week starts on Wednesday on the market in Anjuna. There you can buy batik-clothing, chillums and DJ-mix-tapes. Trance-Rhythms are flying through the air. At the evening everyone is viewing the diving sun. The night is coming on. Black-Lights let everything white glow. The beats start to go harder. Everybody goes into the PrimRose in Vagator to power-up and to get to the party-location of the evening. Often parties take place in Vagator: at the Spaghetti-Beach or the Tel Aviv-Beach or in the Disco-Valley. Or you can visit the Paradizo, a Trancefortress in Anjuna. The peak and the end is the sunrise. Some people go to the sea for a swim. The party-people use the day to chill for the next night.

So…be a bum for a little while every year, and party hard in Goa !!

  4. Hey Goan,

Thanks for that great history. More Austrian Goa photos on their way from the WUK on 3 December 2005.

Have to make it down to Goa one of these years!

I agree the Goa sound is a totally different trip than the techno thing. Melding of (wo)man and music.

    hello trippers,
i am an ordinary engineering student from india but the only thing (be)psy’dz that is…. my extreme proximity to goa. im so close, that if we had enough dough , we’d go every weekend to party at paradiso, nine bar, anjuna temple, primrose or any other full-on party in goa..especially during the season time(oct-feb), goa is a raver’s paradise.i think i’m very lucky coz i was born near manali(in shimla) and i stay near goa(manipal).i was too young at the time to check out the # and the scene up there in manali and kullu, but from what i’ve heard, it seems there are infact full-moon parties by the banks of beas in the forests,,an A party would be really dreamy, an also i like the darker psy music, so the forest would be awesome..
lookin forward to hear somethin about the party scene “on goa-manali-goa-manali-goa-manali-goa..

have studied all kinds of music genres and been a DJ Artist for over 15yrs. DJ’s can differentiate from one another by their music base knowledge. Not everyone can know every song or genre that is out there. but more genres you know, the better your music knowledge base and eventually that is what you can bring to your audiences. I enjoy mixing main stream Hip Hop, House, Trance, Club, Bhangra, Hindi, but also intergrate Indian Classical, Ghazals, Raags, Qawali, East Fusion and World Music. As the world grows smaller with the internet, I enjoy exposing all musical songs to my audience. We must understand the established fundamentals of music and grammar, before we start attempt to change it

I have DJ all over the world except for GOA. I would like to be invited and get more information about playing there.

My sister and i take a good travel to North and Southindia last months, anything was basically surely beautiful at that place. My mum and i traveled a lot somewhere around and as well seen the best lots of big Sanctuarys. We have seen some small tigers, huge elephants but also various additional fantastic pets on that point. All of the the wilderness inside of North and Southindia is without question awesome as well as especially varied. Here in lots of spots it is always totally green having a large amount of herbs, in various other sections so there usually are dessert areas. Inside of the hills you would view a couple of relatively extraordinary and pretty flowers plus trees. We all also previously had a small number of good days in Goa on our beach destination, the ocean was most clean and usually the men and women enormously helpful.
